The city emblem is designed from the first Chinese character the City Name.@The shining sun, the pure moon, and the dreaming stars are combined in this emblem.
It symbolizes the city's dreams, hopes@and development, but also the citizen's harmony and independence.  | |

The black pine tree is rooted firmly to the ground and grows tall towards the sun. It symbolizes the strong continued development of the city.

The Azalea is resistant to the heat and the cold. The blooming beauty of this elegant flower is seen throughout the city. This Azalea flower symbolizes the beauty, and also the strength of the Ishinomaki people. |  |
